Bikini Competitor Kelsey Douglas reveals her competition bikini, jewelry, heels, makeup staples, along with some show day tips and advice.
In this video Iโm going to talk about all the glitz and glams of show today and I'm going to show you my new competition suit because it's so beautiful. I'm so excited to wear it, cannot wait at all. OK, let's just jump right into it.
First I want to say that this year I got my suit from Angel Competition Bikinis. This is the little bag that they sent my suit in. This is what it looks like. Look how pretty it is and how sparkly my suit is. I love it.
I went with blue again because I love blue, itโs my favorite color. I'm blonde and I will have tan on my body for show day and I think blue is one of the best looking colors on tanned blonde body. I think it compliments my personality so I went with the color blue again.
I wanted to go with an overall more sparkly, eye catching suit. I also opted for some very simple small, thin connectors because I am in the smallest class. I compete in Class A so I'm very petite and wanted something that's not going to be so overpowering on my body.
You want to think about your height, body shape and your overall symmetry when choosing your bikini.
I'm someone that doesn't have any hips. I have really short and stocky legs and a short torso. I'm just overall a very short, compact person. So even though, I think the bikinis that have three-tiered connectors that hang down the waist look very beautiful on a lot of people, it just wouldnโt look so good on me.
Thicker connectors are beautiful too but it would look good on really tall, skinny physique girls but for someone like me it would just take away from my overall physique. You don't want anything that is going to be too distracting and takes away from your hard-earned body/physique on stage. That's why I went with the really small/thin connectors.
This is what my old suit from last year looks like. I bought it from Ravish Sands. I absolutely loved the suit and thought it was so beautiful. I love the crystallization on it and I went with some different connectors that I don't really see a whole lot of people wearing. It was definitely a beautiful suit and again I thought I would stray away from a different color but I just ended up with the color blue again.
In comparison to my old suit, my new suit looks more classy and I can't wait to see it all come together with the tan, the hair, makeup and all the jewelry.
This year, they were nice enough and sent me some free jewelry along with my suit. They sent a pair of earrings, a bracelet and a ring. I'm actually not going to be wearing these but I'm going to bring just as a backup in case I need to change.
The jewelry I went with this year is from โGlam Competition Jewelryโ, it came in this nice, sleek box.
Your connectors is also like an accessory and since I went with very classic, basic connectors, I wanted to go a little bit more bold with my jewelry choices. I wanted something not so not traditional. I actually picked out a thick crystal looking bracelet rather than the traditional one that are in small crystal rows.
I prefered to bedazzle my arms because my suit is going to be very simple, very classic so i choose to dress the rest of my body with jewelry.
I went with much bigger earrings because I wanted the earrings to really stand out against my hair and again just overall adding that more bling bling to my whole package.
Last year, I didn't really have big earrings and I felt like my hair covered the earrings. Although, you have to be careful to not overdo it but I love when competitors have big and really pretty, sparkly jewelry that pops. Iโm really excited about my jewelry this year.
I don't usually wear rings at all, so it will be an interesting thing to do. I got a big ring to add a little extra bling to my overall look on stage.
