Introduction

Hi there! My name is Clarice Yau and founder of Impact Training and Global Impact Ellevation. By title you could call me a personal trainer and a success mentor and competition prep coach. But I would really like to be defined more by what I can do for others with words like “impacter”, “giver”, and “friend”. I believe each of us are created for greatness and that my role is to help elevate and pull the greatness out of each individual. I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to step into the fitness industry as a personal trainer and be able to transform people’s lives through their health and fitness. I have been able to help client’s lose weight, adopt healthier eating habits, achieve a new fitness goal, build a fitter stronger body, and redefine their confidence and beliefs in themselves. Being a former competitive dancer, I really value teaching technical foundations in movement and proper body mechanics. Also being a former National fitness competitor, I believe in challenging my clients to work hard to sculpt their bodies and push for the results that they desire. Most recently my interest in success coaching and development has helped me take on a more holistic view point about a person and how I can best facilitate them to reach their fitness goals. I was lucky enough to be referred to Clarice when I took interest in competing in the fitness realm with no experience at all. She definitely made the experience worthwhile. During the two and a half years that she coached me I saw tremendous Improvement in my physique. Each goal we set before every show we accomplished. She really exposed me to my abilities and what I love most about her is that she cares about results and she always personalized her programs to meet my goals. She was also my Nutrition coach which was a positive. Her dance background was also a great asset as a posing coach. I had the best package. After competing in 3 shows i am able to maintain a healthy lifestyle because she not only coached but taught me skills that have trickeled into other areas of my life. I definitely recommend Clarice as a trainer.

I’ve been working with Clarice Yau for the past 3 months. In that time I have, on average, doubled my weights and/or increased reps by 50% - generally both. I have done weights off and on for about 40 years and am now doing heavier weights than at any time in the past 30 years or so. In my first session, we discussed goals and limitations. In my second session we baselined my flexibility and strength. At the 3rd session, Clarice had 2 workouts for me. I do each twice a week, when possible. The next 6-8 weeks focused on unlearning what I thought I knew and learning proper technique for each exercise. Learning proper techniques has allowed me to significantly increase my weights (and/or reps) over the past 6 or so weeks to levels I have not been able to achieve for decades. In addition, my previous efforts at increasing weight have always stopped with joint pain. Under Clarice’s tutelage, I have not had joint pain despite the big increases in the weights. As a coach in my own sport, I recognize a good coach when I see one. Clarice has pushed me to my limits, which has significantly increased my limits. But she has also ensured I am not doing exercises I am not ready for. As such, I have made continuous progress, which helps keep me motivated. As I exercise, Clarice watches from different angles and checks if I am working the specific muscles the exercise targets. When not, we have stopped, and worked through how to achieve the desired outcome. For example, retaining form for lat pull-downs has been challenging due to less flexibility. Rather than focusing on the distance of the pull-down (i.e. to the chest), she had me focus on doing it to the maximum point at which my form was good. Clarice worked with me on a few exercises to overcome limitations. I believe her background as a competitive body-builder and a competitive dancer has given her the direct experience and body knowledge to be a superior personal trainer. I have had excellent value for money spent. I highly recommend Clarice Yau as a personal trainer.

Clarice was supportive and inspiring, that I found myself really looking forward to seeing her. We started doing a lot of cardio, and even though it was tough, she would push me and it made me push myself. I started to notice really positive changes in myself around Christmas, when my pants were getting loose and when I saw muscle building. At the same time I met with family and they were very encouraging and supportive of my changes! " ​ "In May, we did another weight in and I was shocked and excited about what I had achieved. I was going to work and getting less hours of sleep, but I didn’t feel tired anymore. I felt happy and I got to wear a bikini in Nicaragua and get pictures taken without feeling ashamed. I’m learning to take one day at a time and setting new goals for myself each I go. I’m now shooting for a one arm push-up like my idol, Clarice!

Having trained with Clarice now for the past month, I've broadened my understanding of fitness to full-body strength and endurance.
